Mental Health Happy Hour was just a random idea I had last week, but after tonight I’m convinced it can become so much more. We had high schoolers, graduate students, entrepreneurs, professionals, and creatives contribute to a very raw, emotional, and honest conversation about how COVID-19 has had an effect on our mental health. @strike_ignite was able to piece together everyone’s thoughts into cohesive threads, and I could not have done this without her rockstar guidance and advice. Here were our main takeaways, and I hope they give YOU some feelings of peace during these trying times: ✨Offer yourself #GRACE . ✨It’s OKAY to be #worried . ✨ALLOW what you’re doing to be okay. ✨Nobody actually has #control . ✨Regulate your #sleep . ✨ #Unwind before bed. ✨Get some #sunshine . ✨Designate time to #feelthefeels . @strike_ignite and I are going to be back next Wednesday at 5:30PM EST, joined by registered dietician @christine .coen. None of this is easy to navigate. But you don’t need to read the map on your own. We don’t know how long these choppy waters will last, so let’s keep pressing forward together. Tonight made me feel useful, like I once again have a purpose. Thank you for allowing me to share this space. I can’t wait to do it again. See ya next week ✨ #mentalhealthhappyhour #mentalhealth #mentalhealthawareness #mentalhealthmatters #mentalhealthduringcoronavirus #zoomhappyhour #zoomwithus #zoommeeting #bewellphoto
