2 weeks. that’s all i have left in my time overseas for a little while. i almost started to think how crazy it is that this lifestyle of living in community & sharing God’s heart with those around me is almost over & then, of course, God reminded me that that is just simply not true. wherever i end up putting my roots down next i still have the opportunity to choose to fully immerse myself into the community, to fully love the people the Lord has placed in front of me, & to actively seek God’s heart & voice in every single thing i do. i could probably spend the rest of my life telling you all that i have learned in the past 2 years of my time with the World Race, but i’ll boil it down to 3 things: (1 ) intimacy with God is the most important thing in the whole world. (2 ) fellowship & vulnerability within your community makes life a little bit messy, but a heck of a lot more fun. (3 ) every single person has a purpose on this Earth & God will use you to impact His kingdom in miraculous, magical ways if you only just let Him. so America - i will see you soon!! in the meantime, i’ll be soaking up all the time i have left with kiddos like these & my precious Z Squad.
the table. it’s something we as z squad have been talking a lot about. this month 4 debrief we made it a goal to go back to the basics of Acts 2. the beginning of church, where the fellowship of believers is in its most simple form. we break bread together, we pray together, we worship together, & we learn from one another all with Jesus at the center. sometimes it’s messy, but that’s because people are messy & Jesus never shied away from the mess!!! thanks, God, for a community who’s heartbeat looks a lot like yours, who gathers around the table in communion with glad and generous hearts. #11n11 #theworldrace
i can now put “learned how to ‘back’ a newborn baby in front of all of his friends & family in the middle of his Togolese naming ceremony” on my resume.
i don’t know about you but 2020 snuck the heck up on me, so i am extremely thankful that this afternoon i got a chance to take a deep breathe & reflect on all of the things God did in 2019. it was a year of facing fears & challenges & leaning on His love in the face of all of the hard things. i grew more in 2019 than i did in my entire life & i am thankful for every beautiful, messy part of it (& trust me there were so many messy parts ) but God continued to show me that His love can truly conquer all things. - i am so stinkin stoked to see what God has for 2020. i have a feeling it’s going to be a lot of new people & new places. it definitely will come with it’s own challenges, but i love that i can take the lessons i’ve learned this past year & use them in the months to come. this afternoon i got to ask the Lord what to take into the new year & what to leave behind in 2019. it was a breathe of fresh air & i have been filled with so much optimism & joy that makes me believe 2020 is going to be something so sweet 🌱
my best friend married her best friend in front of all of our best friends & i will be forever emotional about this day. emmy & keith you guys are so LOVED! thanks for representing Christ’s love to us all. <3

well, here we have it folks. another thanksgiving spent out of the country & out of the woods. it can be so easy to get caught up in the homesickness - especially when all of my people are together in one of my favorite places on the planet ⛺️ but the Lord’s been filling my heart with so much thankfulness for this past year of my life that i just have no reason to feel anything but J O Y. so THANKS God for Peru & Z Squad & the miracles we’ve seen & just the way you love us so dang well. & also thank you for 50 (!! ) years of an incredible family tradition. #11n11 #theworldrace
i’ve spent the last 2 weeks with team Scelte living in a school in a teeny little beach town. mon-fri at 1 pm the niños would come streaming in, giggling & shrieking with the occasional “hola hermana!”, & until 6 we played games with them, tutored them, & worshiped the lord with them. to say these past 2 weeks filled me up would be a huge understatement. even in the midst of the craziness there was a constant underlying peace. i am so excited to see what God has next, but i sure will miss my Scelte girls & these cutie loco niños. also Martha, i most definitely will miss Martha.🐢 #11n11 #theworldrace
due to political unrest in Bolivia we have been spending our month 2 here in Peru. my heart breaks for Bolivia & the trials many other South American countries have endured recently, but i am thankful to spend another month in this country i have fallen so hard for. while you’re taking a second to read this post do you mind lifting up a prayer for Bolivia & the ministries we weren’t able to go to??? i just get really hyped when i remember that we serve a God who not only hears our prayers & answers them, but is already holding Bolivia in the palm of His hands. #11n11 #theworldrace
guys i actually almost cried hiking up this stinkin mountain. it was so flippin hard, but then i got to the top & i was like DANG OK WORTH IT. i mean WOAH i’m at Machu Picchu in the mountains of Peru!!! i think that’s an accurate picture of my October. there were so many times i just cried my little heart out - for my nannie, for my family, for my squad, for Ecuador, for my own insecurities, but God was constantly providing me with a mountain top, constantly showing me that there will always be a silver lining. that He is bigger than my insecurities, bigger than the political disruption happening throughout the world, bigger than anything myself or the squad is walking through, & that my grandma is sitting right there next to Him : ) i am just so incredibly thankful for all of the mountaintops & the valleys that make them that much sweeter.
this past week we celebrated the life of the greatest woman i have ever known. nan is with Jesus now !!! & she will forever be in every wind chime i hear & every flower i see. if there’s anything she taught us it was how to love each other & i can’t wait to see how her legacy lives on through us. i am so thankful for this incredible family of mine <3 pic 1 ft nan in her happy place @hklott pic 2 ft us frolicking through the greatest backyard in the world @katy_durst
oh sweet angel girl. our Nannie is in heaven now, worshiping the creator of the universe. i can’t believe it. she gets to be reunited with papa & patti while standing in the presence of Jesus. your family is aching down here without you, but we KNOW we will see you again & in the meantime we’ll be watching your legacy carry on & on & on. & as soon as i get access to a bottle of red wine you better believe i’m pouring a glass for you. i love you forever & ever & ever.
the ever so radiant future Mrs. White, ladies & gentlemen !!! i love celebrating you !!!

these last 2 weeks i got to witness the fulfilling of a promise the Lord set in motion in Armenia 7 months ago (i mean, that’ll give ya chills ). i got to watch as He rapidly grew my heart to love these 22 humans i have merely just met. i can’t wait to come alongside these men & women as they explore the world & further discover the goodness & faithfulness of our God. what an honor. #theworldrace #11n11
new mercies every stinkin morning !!!
before i left for the Race Danielle wrote me a letter to open in every single country + she grabbed 11 of my closest friends to also write a letter. not only that, but she made sure to schedule a facetime with me in the midst of our crazy schedules, sketchy WiFi, & different time zones in all 14 countries. she is loyal & constant, & such an example of the selfless, overflowing love of Jesus. her actions constantly remind me that you don’t have to travel across the world to love people well, & boy does she love people well. i am so thankful that i get to call her one of my best friends. ps. Sic Em & Woo Pig !
BIG AMAZING EXCITING WONDERFUL NEWS! it has been one whole month since i have been home & it has truly been one of the sweetest months (i didn’t even know how badly i missed all my people! ) But i am beyond excited to share that i have been given the opportunity to lead a squad on the World Race this OCTOBER. so come this fall i will be leaving for 5 months to lead the beautiful people of Z Squad throughout South America & West Africa. I feel so stinkin blessed to continue to work with the organization that i so deeply love, spreading the love of Jesus throughout the world! Z Squad - I am so excited to meet you!
