Swipe to right rack focus. . Which one do you like better? . Well that ends my month long stint in Japan. About to hop on a plane back to Sydney. Hope you enjoyed following along and are inspired to go on some adventures of your own.
Tokyo subway bean selfie.
SHIBUYA. . New views from the new Shibuya Sky deck. Highly recommended if you visit Tokyo. . If you’ve been to Tokyo, where’s one spot you HAVE to recommend? Share it in the comments.
Snow family. . I think this might be my favourite photo from my trip so far. It was a rare moment to capture in snowy conditions (which is new for me ). . I have POV gopro footage of this shoot which should be in my upcoming Japan travel vlog series. . 📺 Subscribe to my YouTube channel! Link in bio /itchban
Floating snow bus.
Murder of crows. . Just finished up our second (back to back ) road trip and am back in Tokyo to chill for the next few weeks. Who’s around?!
The perfect cabin. . We came to this spot to shoot a road leading up to a mountain but it was obscured by the cloud cover. This cabin was kinda cool tho! I vlogged & filmed a whole bunch of it. Can’t wait to edit it. . Subscribe to my YouTube (link in bio ).
Some snow minimalism for you ft. @pat_kay
Incoming blizzard. . Got a chance to edit some of my photos from Hokkaido (get ready for lots of snow / white ). I rarely see snow as I live in sunny Sydney so I don’t think I’d could get sick of it (yet ). . When’s the last time you’ve seen snow? Do you love it or hate it? . @street .classics #streetclassics
New YouTube video is live! Link in bio. . PAST LIVES - the past is just a story we tell ourselves. My latest film is inspired by this line in “Her” (2013 ). . Sometimes all the travels and things I get up to feels surreal. It has honestly been pretty hard to keep track & remember the places I’ve been in the past year. . That’s one advantage of shooting video - it is a running record of life. The screen grabs above are some frames from the film. . Go check it out on a TV or Desktop screen in 4K and let me know what you think 😊 . Also cheers to everyone in the vid and to all the people I was lucky enough to meet in person last year.
Shrouded in fog. . Please note that this is fog, not bushfire smoke. It’s an old photo taken in winter. . The bushfire situation in Australia however, is very real. If you want to help you can donate - there are some links in my bio.
Pinch & zoom. How are you?
It’s all a matter of perspective. . Do you prefer street or nature photography? . Personally I go through phases of obsession with both. When I shoot too much street, I crave to get out in nature - and vice versa. I love them both equally though, so I’m keen to get back to Japan soon and shoot a mix of both. . @street .classics #streetclassics
Shibuya subway series 02/03 . I’ve been working on sets of Instagram filter luts. This is one of them. You’ll be able to use them on your own Instagram stories! I’ll launch this one pretty soon - keep an eye on my stories & profile. . What should I name this filter?
🎌 Tickets are booked! I’m headed back to Tokyo - my favourite city in the world (with a detour to somewhere snowy first 🤫 ). . I’m thinking about vlogging it / making some YouTube videos from this trip. Anything you’d like to see / want me to make in particular? Vlogs about photography? Travel? Street? Food? . Here’s a collection of some of my favourite videos that I’ve posted this year. . Which one do you like most? . My favourite of them all is probably the second one (infinite salaryman loop ) because of the technical things I was able to achieve & learn from creating it. You can check my story highlight “Adobe Made Here” to see how I made it.
Which one do you prefer? 1 or 2? . They’re both roughly the same proportion & frame but shot different focal lengths. It makes such a huge difference tho: . Image 01 - 67mm, f8, ISO100 @ 3.2” - It is a tele photo shot and you can really tell by the compression of the image, composition and subject. I was much further away and it really emphasises the scale of the subject vs the waterfall. A slower shutter speed also exaggerates the water flow and makes it nice and silky. . Image 02 - 33mm, f2.8, ISO1250 1/125” - Wide angle shot with me physically a lot closer to the subject. Although the waterfall is roughly the same size in the image, the subject is quite a lot bigger. This gives it a more intimate / pov. The fast shutter speed catches all the movement & detail of the waterfall. . Let me know your thoughts on these in depth captions. You’re all at different levels in your photography and I just wanted to gauge if info like this is helpful or not ✌🏼
