✖️DIETS DON’T WORK✖️ . It’s been proven time and time again, yet the diet industry makes billions of dollars each year💸 . The average American will go on 5 diets in their lifetime. So many women are going from diet to diet just trying to find something that will work for them, and they rarely succeed😕 . It’s estimated that 80% of people who lose at least 10% of their body weight through dieting will gradually regain that weight, and will actually often end up weighing MORE than before they lost that weight🤦🏼♀️ . It’s supposed to be so simple, right? All you gotta do is make sure the calories you’re consuming is less than the calories you’re burning! WRONG🙅🏼♀️ (mostly ). . Our bodies are not mathematical, they’re biological. A simple calories in/calories out equation does not take into account the complex workings of how our bodies work!🧬 . Society paints overweight individuals as lazy and lacking discipline. “You wanna lose weight? Just eat less and exercise more! Oh, you failed at that? You’re just not trying hard enough!”🙄 . How many of you have heard that from a friend? A doctor? Yourself? Well I’m here you tell you that this way of thinking is WRONG! . You’re NOT lazy, you ARE trying, and I know you want to better yourself! But dieting is not the answer!🚫 . This post is pretty long, but would you like to see another post about WHY weight loss diets don’t work? . #dietsdontwork #ditchthediet #dietculture #antidietculture #antidiet #foodfreedom #allfoodsfit #nourishnotpunish #inuitiveeating #nodiets #eatinghealthier #holisticnutrition #lifestylenotadiet #nondiet #bodytrust #dietculturesucks #dietculturedropout #nondietnutrition #weightlossjourney #weightlosssupport #weightlossmyths #womensweightloss #weightloss #weightlossdiet #ketodiet #atkinsdiet #weightwatchers #slimmingworld #caloriesincaloriesout #holisticnutitionstudent

Follow @getfitwithaman for amazing fitness and weight loss content. ✅ Most of the people still think that eating more food in the evening makes them fat, and they started eating less in the evening. Either they will be reducing fat because indirectly they are creating a calorie deficit (even they don't know ) by eating less, or they will not reduce fat because they are already eating more calories in their breakfast and lunch. The point is it depends on how many calories you are eating in a whole day. Let's take an example of a car 🚗 again: if the car tank is having a capacity of 10 liters, does it matter if you put oil in your car tank in the morning or evening. No right! The same applies to our body, if your body daily calorie intake target is let's say 2000 calories (just an example ), then you can eat that calorie at any time based on your lifestyle. No need to worry much about timing. Just focus on achieving your calorie intake! I wonder if eating at night would make us fat, then what would be the situation of the people working in night shifts 😁 👉Turn on post notifications 🔔 for more fitness and nutrition tips. 📣 Tag your friends who want to know this! ✅What do you think about this? SOY AND HORMONE HEALTH Soy is one of those foods that has a BAD REP in the health world which is mostly related to ANIMAL studies. These findings haven't been replicated in humans and I'm here to give you some straight, evidenced based info to separate myths from facts 🙋What are phytoestrogens? A: Soy contains isoflavones, a type of phytoestrogen similar to our human estrogen, but exerts a MUCH weaker effect. 🤷♂️Do phytoestrogens decrease testosterone or feminize men? A: No, this is just a straight up myth. There is no strong evidence that phytoestrogens affect testosterone levels. 🤷♀️Does soy increase breast cancer risk in women? A: No, studies to date show a protective effect (or at worst a neutral effect ) for prevention of breast cancer. 🙋♂️Does soy intake decrease prostate cancer risk in men? A: Yes, the consumption of soy based foods is associated with a decrease risk of prostate cancer. As with any food, I wouldn't suggest eating soy all day, everyday but I do recommend 2-3 times per week especially if it replaces red meat. The best soy products to consume are minimally processed e.g. tofu, tempeh, miso, edamame. What questions can I help you answer about soy 👇 #plantpower #allfoodsfit #mythbusting #womenshealth #happyhormones #hormonehealth #nodiets #eatmoreplants #vegetarianfood #healthyfoods #healthyhabits #realmomlife #honoryourhunger #intuitiveeating #bodypositiveparenting #realstagram #dietitiansofig #dietitiansofinstagram #intuitiveeatingjourney #listentoyourbody #allfoodsfit #kidfoodie #healthykidshappykids #rd2be #askanRD #nofoodrules #antidietapproach #feedinglittles #momlife #momblogger

Have you ever bought cookies you’ve been craving, consumed the entire box, and then taken out the trash before your partner returns home? Or maybe you’ve ordered a salad while dining out with friends, but stopped to pick up a cheeseburger and fries on your way home so you can enjoy the food without feeling judged? Yeah, me too. Most of us eat alone, but it does not feel secretive. The difference between eating alone and eating in secret is that when eating alone, it wouldn’t bother us if someone else walked in and saw us eating. We wouldn’t stop mid-bite and want to hide our food. And notice how the foods you eat in secrecy are never carrots and celery sticks. It’s always the hyper-palatable calorically dense “bad” foods you never give yourself permission to eat. Because you’ve attached moral judgment to these processed foods, you feel guilt and shame — which, ironically, as an emotional eater, only causes you to eat MORE. When we remove the “bad” label and view food through the microscope like a scientist would, we will start to see food for what it is — energy. It becomes neutral. No emotional attachment necessary. No negative language. No guilt. No shame. Just calories that fuel our body. Yes, some calories offer more nutrients than others, but that doesn’t mean we can’t still seek pleasure in eating through balance and moderation. I encourage you to eat with the intention of being in full view. You don’t need to hide who you are or how you eat. This only perpetuates the cycle. If you constantly hide what you eat from other people, you are sending yourself the message that who you are cannot be seen, cannot be loved and needs to be hidden. That is not a kind thing to say to yourself. It is also not true.
I invite you to listen, learn, and support BIPOC by elevating and amplifying their voices June 1-7 (and every week ). I will be focusing on leveraging my privilege as a white woman by sharing as much as I can. I am committed to deepening my anti-racism work by (un )learning. I refuse to be quiet as so many are hurting and lives are being lost. Neutral is not an option. Being ‘not racist’ is nowhere near enough. Let’s do the work. If you’re feeling uncomfortable, please stay and lean in. Sit with those feelings. We can be changemakers. It’s not just our responsibility, it’s what’s right and what’s fair. I will be sharing in my feed and stories. I also have a BLM story highlight saved.

It’s World Meditation Day! 🧘🏻♀️ . . Tomorrow is the last day of my meditation teacher training, so it seems to have come at the perfect time. 🙌🏼 . . I’ve been a big advocate of having a meditation practice after it has helped me during a tough time, and it is something that I encourage my clients to explore. Up until now I have always signposted clients to guided meditation or meditation programmes, but now I am excited to have the opportunity to offer meditation instruction to my clients in our dietetic sessions. ☺️ . . I often get clients saying “meditation doesn’t work for me because I can’t clear my mind because it’s too busy”. Yes! That’s right! Our minds are always busy! Whether its replaying what’s happened in the past or thinking of the to-do list we have to get through, it’s constantly going. 🤯 . . The common misconception is that meditation means clearing the mind. What meditation actually is is just being in the present moment with the way things are right now. Just being curious, without judgement and without trying to change it. . . So paying attention to something like the breath, which is happening in the present moment, helps us be able to stay present. Something that seems so simple, even boring, but is so powerful (and free! ) during these tough times. The true definition of self care and self compassion 🥰 . . . #shamatha #meditation #depression #emotions #selfcare #dowhatyoulove #mindful #mindfulness #mindfuleating #enjoyment #noguilt #intuitive #dietitian #nodiets #lovewhatyoueat #dietitiansagainstdiets #meditate #selfcompassion #gratitude #mentalhealth #mentalhealthawareness #kindness #kind #eatingdisorders #eatingdisordersrecovery #covid19 #breath #breathe
How many times have you pushed through in order to stick to a diet? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ How many times do you think it's about ignoring your hunger in order to be successful? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Here's where the trouble begins with dieting. You start to form these associations with weight loss and deprivation and switching off from your body - which makes overeating and binge eating so much easier and harder to stop. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Successful weight loss means working WITH your body and a positive relationship to food. NOT against your body and certainly not pushing against and ignoring how you feel or your desires around food. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ You aren't meant to starve yourself to lose weight. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Long term sustainable diets are about including foods you love and knowing when to increase food rather than push through hunger. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ On the flip-side - if you are constantly craving and hungry then the diet isn't the solution - that's where you have to dig deeper and see what hunger has been associated with and look to psychology as opposed to nutrition. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The good news is that my course the No Diet Babe Academy can help you end your yo-yo dieting and all or nothing dieting approaches, help your constant cravings and create a life of freedom and weight loss. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ You get to have BOTH! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Link in bio @nodietbabe to join! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ . . . . . #weightlosstransformation #dietculturedropout #energyworker #selflovemovement #manifesting #manifestweightloss #shiftyourfocus #nourishnotpunish #bodyimagemovement #mantra #manifestingweightloss #youhavethepower #highvibetribe #thoughtsarethings #abundancemindset #beautifulyou #healthymindset #weightlosshelp #counciousnessshift #manifestationbabe #motivateeachother #nodiets #ditchthediet #manifestation #yourbestlife #intuitiveeating #lawofattraction #bingeeatingrecovery #manifestingmindset #youattractwhatyouarereadyfor
FOCUS _ “Starve your distractions, feed your focus.” Successful training is not a question of how heavy your weight is or how many many hours you work out. An effective training is when you manage to achieve a full 100% focus. That’s a real winner. All it takes is a solid 45-minute workout session. An uninterrupted session from calls and messages. Put your devices on full ‘Do-not-Disturb’ mode. Get your mind and body in line to reconnect. Here are tips for an effective workout: Always remind yourself the main reason on why you are doing this Plug in a good playlist in your workout. The beats from songs not only will help to increase your energy, but it keeps you in the perfect groove to power through. Feel your mind-to-Muscle Connection. Before attempting every move, take a deep breathe. Exhale through the motions. That’ll keep your brain and body engaged. What an amazing relationship! Training is a work in progress. Keep working on your mind to focus and see miracle things your body is able to do. Here’s a little throwback to pump you up for your next workout session. Whatever your goal is, we want to cheer you on. Be it for health improvement, weightloss, confidence building or family planning we want to help you. 🍫 The “What The Hell” Effect! 🍫 Have you experienced it? This is one of the ways that diets/restriction can backfire. 💥 Overt or low-key food rules lead you to believe… 🙅🏼♀️ You’ve eaten something you shouldn’t 🙅🏼♀️ You’ve eaten too much 🙅🏼♀️ You’ve broken a food rule 🙅🏼♀️ You’ve eaten when you shouldn’t As a result, you feel like you’ve “broken” your diet so, what the hell, you might as well go all out and eat everything that’s usually off-limits or restricted! 🍪🍩🍿🍟🍕 Fun fact: The fancy term for this is “counterregulatory eating” and it’s been observed that “restrained eaters” (dieters/restrictors ) eat MORE 🍪🍪🍪 when they feel like they’ve stuffed up or gone overboard. 😧 So what’s the antidote to this?! 💖 Self-compassion and forgiveness 💁🏼♀️ Moving away from black-and-white food rules 🙌🏼 Adopting a way of relating to food that never makes you feel “wrong” (like Intuitive Eating ) ❓Q: Have you experienced the “What The Hell” Effect?
NOTHING👏🏻 GOOD👏🏻 EVERY 👏🏻CAME👏🏻 EASY👏🏻 Y'ALL Remember the sparkly sense of hope & excitement every time you embarked on a new "weight loss journey" or the new diet? "Its going to work this time around - THIS IS FINALLY IT" Everything feels great in the beginning - until our bad habits inevitably creep back out again along with never ending feelings of shame, frustration & hopelessness. It's okay. It's not your fault. These methods are meant to set you up for failure. Having been there myself - I still find it hard to maintain & understand my UNIQUE needs when it comes to food as well as ditching the one size fits all approach.... & lastly lack of PATIENCE. How do you then sustain long term weight loss or even just healthy habits? 💜 Enjoy the foods you eat. Do yourself a favour and replace the cheeseburger with a salad ONLY IF YOU LIKE SALADS. Healthy patterns will not stick if you don't inherently enjoy them. Look for healthy alternatives of foods that you love and make sure they satisfy you. It takes alot of times & patience to get there - but it sure as hell is better than deprivation. 💜Don't go to the extreme. Don't strive to change ALL of your habits in a day - because you can be damn sure there WILL be a boomerang effect. Rome was not built in a day. Focus on one habit & take little steps daily to get closer to it. Start with drinking a little bit more water than you did yesterday or sleep an extra hour than you did yesterday. Baby steps. 💜Only change something in your life you know you CAN SUSTAIN. Don't go vegan overnight because a Youtuber said it'll make you healthier & lose weight. Do it because you truly believe you can sustain this lifestyle for the longest time! Do it because it fits in with your values & lifestyle and the way YOU FUNCTION. If something isn't serving you or providing value - question it. Making healthy habits are good for you but only by choosing something realistic!
🇬🇧Superfood Sunday If you want to live healthy, sprouting is the easiest (and cheapest ) way to get in loads of highly bioavailable: minerals, vitamins and ACTIVE enzymes. It is super easy to make, use a mason jar let the seeds soak overnight, rinse off remaining water, place at an angle, wash & rinse 3 times a day, you wont get any more fresh veggies than that I promise you. To keep me motivated to continuing in doing so, all I ask, is to take at least one action of the following (or best all😛 ) 🙏Save it! 🙏Follow us! 🙏Like it! 🙏Share it! 🙏Tag a friend, who definitely would be interested to learn more about superfoods. TOP 3 TIPS TO BURN FAT WITHOUT GIVING UP YOUR FAVORITE MEAL! 😋 ⠀ 1. Incorporate intermittent fasting by skipping breakfast. Allow yourself to have water and black coffee w/ stevia to sweeten, but don’t have your first meal till the afternoon. Your first meal should be light and high in protein. For example, I like having a big salad bowl with berries and lean cuts of protein like chicken breast or sirloin steak 😋 ⠀ 2. Save your “cheat meal” or how I like to say “treat meal” for your re-feed day. A re-feed day is 1 day out of the week where you eat at maintenance to revamp your metabolism, replenish muscle glycogen, and regulate hunger hormones! (This is my secret ) ⠀ 3. Eat slow and savor your food. Be fully present and in the moment with your meal so that you can fully appreciate what you’re about to eat. If not, you’ll eat your meal before you even realize you sat down to eat it 😂 ⠀ Once you know the fundamentals of nutrition, you can play around with your meals and eat virtually whatever you like. I’m all about balance. Be reasonable with your food choices and enjoy yourself when the time is right! ⠀ Now that restaurants are open, I’m about to go have some Italian food!! 🍝😋
Hands up if you are excited for watermelon season!🙋♀️🍉 If you are more nervous than excited, let me help you calm your nerves👇 Fruit has sugar, but it's also loaded with nutrients and is super hydrating! Besides for the fact that we need to STOP demonizing sugar! The body knows how to use it just fine. Whichever sugar you consume, it is converted to the simplest form of sugar in the body called glucose. Glucose is your body's preferred energy source. Your brain runs exclusively on glucose (hence the irritable mood and lack of focus when you don't eat enough ). We NEED this energy💯! Yes, there are sources of sugar that come with more nutrients (like watermelon ) and sources that come with less nutrients (like candy ). That doesn't make either food good or bad. And guess what! You don't need to micromanage it! If you listen to your body it will tell you when you've had enough🙏 - whether its watermelon or cookies, learn to listen and trust what your body already knows it needs. (if you need help feeling like you can trust yourself around all foods - ➡️ get my free guide in the LINK in my bio for 3 Step to Stop Feeling Out of Control with Food ) Also, watermelon is not what's ruining your diet.. because its the diet itself that doesn't work🚫. Restriction is the very reason you obsess about food and can't stop overeating! So why not just ditch it entirely & enjoy your watermelon in peace🙌🍉😋! Do you stress about fruit or do you enjoy it without all the food rules noise?
How many negotiations have you made with yourself over a darn slice of cheesecake (or any other food )?? How much energy and brain space are you spending calculating how and if you should eat it🤯? . . Let me tell - TOO DAMN MUCH🙅♀️!!! The holiday of Shavuot is coming up (is it really next week?!! ), or how I lovingly refer to it - CHEESECAKEFEST! 😍😋 It is my favorite holiday! Cheesecake, blintzes, ice cream, rice pudding, fettuccine alfredo, and my aunt's famous cheese and olive casserole (holy smokes it is other worldly )! I mean, basically this is my heaven Back when I was dieting, the days leading up to this holiday were filled with stress + worry. I would make all these plans to "prepare myself". It would go any which way... . . 🔸️ restrict and lose some weight now so that I can gain it back without worry by eating my face off. (I mean, clearly disregarding my body and cues either way ) . . 🔸️ commit to ONLY 1 piece (ha! That never happened, it never ended with 1 ) . . 🔸 Skip breakfast so I can earn the calories for the lavish lunch . . 🔸workout extra before and after to compensate for what I eat In ALL these scenarios I was focused on restriction of some sort... and in ALL of them I felt both deprived and then out of control. A holiday that was supposed to bring me joy would end up with me feeling bloated and upset at myself - not. very. joyful😭 . . Can you relate? . . Enough, my dear! Your energies, your time, your effort - they can be put to much better use than fighting food all day, criticizing your body, and calculating calories nonstop . . There is SO much out there for you to enjoy! But you need to lead with trust & self love. You need to choose FEELING good above "being good" - because you already ARE good! Just eat the darn cheesecake & enjoy it! Without guilt. Pay attention to how it tastes, notice how your body responds. Start practicing now! ➡️ Get my free guide: 3 Teps To Stop Feeling Out of Control with Food in the LINK in my bio... So you can relax & ENJOY all the holiday has to offer🙌 instead of being on the defense the whole time. Okay, now tell me - what's your favorite cheesecake???
ALL TOGETHER DELICIOUS. I wish that Instagram had smell and taste properties for you! This to me is a bowl of ultimate yum. It features varying textures, temperatures and flavours. All of which contribute to our satisfaction. Did you know that’s what’s meant when we’re discussing satisfaction? And therefore why you can feel full and yet not satisfied? I remember a client telling me that she ordered pho instead of the burrito bowl that she wanted. (Diet culture told her that she “should” get the pho you see ). And whilst she enjoyed the pho, it didn’t hit the spot. Her intuition was telling her what she wanted and needed. It’s precisely this intuition of yours that I can help to connect you with once more. It is there. And we can uncover it. If right now this bowl is hitting your sweet spot, you’ll find the easy recipe on my blog under ‘meatballs.’ And if you need a hand to discover this reconnection to your own intuition, I’d love to help. Becoming an intuitive eater, refusing to restrict your body, joyful movement, rejecting diet culture, body acceptance, food neutrality, eating without guilt, eating with full permission, and so many other qualities of a healthful relationship with food and body can’t be seen in a before and after photo. Diet culture loves to illustrate a physical body transformation because it thrives on the toxic message that thinner is better. Healing your relationship with food thrives on unlearning and dismantling this toxic message so that all bodies (including yours! ) have the right to exist just as they are, and are deserving of respect and dignity. Human value and worth can’t be depicted in a before and after, however before and after photos will always represent that one body is superior to the other.
I can’t really pinpoint the day I finally crawled out of what I now recognize was extreme eating disorder tendencies. But I do know it didn’t happen overnight and I also know as my fear of foods lifted, so did the harsh criticism of my body. It was always a game of rules, this many calories, this many ‘points,’ low carb, no carb, these fruits are bad, these veggies will hurt you, meat is gross, avoid it all and you will be SKINNY! So that’s what I did, starting at 15, I deprived the shit out of myself in hopes of being ‘skinny,’ and not one of these things ever did me any favors. Slowly as I educated myself on processed foods (a total duh now ), and how the body quite literally asks for what it needs, I lifted all of the restrictions off myself (and yes, this is a total process and cannot be done overnight ) and slowly started to see my entire life shift. I don’t say this lightly. My. Entire. Life. Food freedom and intuitive eating have become my way of life. I was a vegetarian for six years and out of the blue I was salivating at the thought of fish and meat. So after a few weeks I ate it. Lately fish sounds gross to me, so I don’t eat it. Grains make me feel all the bloat, so I don’t eat them. I love a huge crunchy what some would call ‘sugary' apple, so I EAT THE BIGGEST ONES I CAN FIND. Something happened when I started eating FOR my BODY, instead of for an end goal. My gut issues have seemingly resolved, I take minimal supplements and although I have my moments, for the most part I love on this body and am grateful to no end that it has done everything I have asked of it up until this point. I stopped focusing on the food I was eating, and seemingly out of nowhere I had different dreams. I realized how much of my actual mind space I was allowing the obsession to take up. If you’re still in the weeds of it, or working on getting out of them, I see you and all the things you’re feeling are so validated. But I am here to remind you, you can be a bit soft and still happy as hell. You can eat the ice cream on a Saturday night and still be the healthiest you’ve ever been. I want to shine the brightest light ever on the fact that this balance does exist ✨

Have you ever felt like you can’t even imagine loving your body? Like, whole-hearted, full-bodied love? I spent years hating my body. 🔸Crying in dressing rooms at the sight of a new pant size or a new stretch mark. 🔸Avoiding mirrors at all costs. 🔸Watching my body shrink and expand and shrink and expand. And watching my worth do the same. 🔸Assuming I was a failure because I couldn’t get my body to be how I wanted. 🔸Hearing my inner critic hold the mic screaming “STILL NOT GOOD ENOUGH.” GOOD GOLLY, I wish I had someone to walk me towards a solution earlier. It could have saved me YEARS of agony and terrible health. And that’s my dream for you. That you’d be swooped up and rescued from one more day of chasing your worth through the next diet. Because now I know that you actually don’t HAVE to be on this hamster wheel until the day you die. Now… 🧡I can check myself out in my mirror and say “OMG, HEY CUTIE!” 🧡My worth doesn’t fluctuate when my weight does. 🧡I have HEADSPACE for things other than calorie calculation or how I need to “make up” for that cheat day. 🧡I look forward to moving my body! 🧡I have energy for my family and my business. 🧡My health is better than it’s ever been. This is why I created the Food Freedom Group Coaching Program! A 4 month long program dedicated to giving you food freedom, body respect and liberation from diet culture. And I’m giving it to you for the lowest price I ever have. Because it freaking matters that you heal, and it’s important that this kind of healing is accessible. I only have 7 spots left, and registration closes next week. If you’ve been waiting for the right time to deal with what’s going on in your head, and start loving your body, it’s now. Leave a ♥️ in the comments and I’ll send you a DM. Let’s talk.
