Learning to be proud of how fair I have come...yes it is taking me a lot longer to lose the weight than I wanted but at least I’m still moving forward and I’ve never gone back to where I started in November 2018. so it’s officially been 24 hours of this activity challenge, & I can barely go up the stairs without wincing. Today will be 4/4 days at the gym since i’ve been back & It’s so so nice... but also, i’m still kicking my own butt because I have access to equipment & facilities that I haven’t touched in over 6 months. My friend & I talked yesterday about how we’re both refusing to lose to one another, so I guess the next 6 days are going to be filled with intense workouts, late night walks for extra points, & an obsession with checking his activity points. About last night...after I posted I realized that while I had done two 45 minute workouts and biked/walked a collective time that was over 45 minutes I had not done a dedicated outdoor 45 min workout. So what did I do? I took a 45 min walk at 10pm. Luckily I have a wonderfully supportive partner that came with me so I didn’t have to do it alone. I got a gym membership today! . I did more of a traditional style workout and I am seriously DEAD. . I know I’m going to love being back in the gym regularly, but I would be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous walking in today. . I got used to it really quick though! . As much as I loved doing my traditional style workouts, I want to keep incorporating the workouts I was doing at home too. . I want to be so strong, but also in shape. . I just want to try and have the best of both worlds!

If you had asked me last month if I could do 2 workouts a day I would have said ‘I don’t think so, I can barely fit in one.’ If you asked me 6 months ago if I could stay sober for 75 days straight I would have said ‘I don’t think so, I don’t even want to stay sober for 24 hours’ If you would have asked me 4 years ago if I could cut carbs out of my diet I would have said ‘I don’t think so, I could never do that.’ If you would have asked me 7 years ago if it was possible to support my entire family on social media I would have said ‘I don’t think so, those things never work.’ If you would have asked me 13 years ago if I was capable of being a badass single mom to my daughter I would have said, ‘I don’t know, I’m really scared and I have no idea how to take care of us both.’ I look at self imposed boundaries as something that keeps us small, invisible fences, the farthest point we allow our fingertips to touch before shrinking back into our comfort zone. (Simple things make me very happy! ) I rocked my morning with the 4:30 alarm it’s becoming slightly easier...the cold showers however are not! (These do not make me happy, these nearly make me cry 😭 I despise them! Only 26 more to go ) Arms and abs didn’t feel as difficult today! And pushups are definitely feeling easier! I did 134 (my new record ) on my toes, throughout the workout and then the ones I do everyday included! Although my shoulders and arms are jello! After arms and abs I did a 3 mile run, I didn’t push myself on this I just leisurely ran until I felt tired! I finished off with a recovery session!! I love the recovery sessions such a great way to really stretch everything out!! I am feeling great this week. Mentally I feel strong and physically I am feeling new strength! I used to pride myself on seeing how long I could go during the day before eating. • I used to justify my unhealthy eating habits by saying “it’s ok if it’s the only meal I have today” • I wondered why I wasn’t seeing any positive changes. If anything, I was going backwards, both physically and mentally. • At the beginning of #75hard , I continued this destructive habit until I realized I was constantly tired and my body would be incredibly sore after workouts – the result of insufficient nutrition that my body desperately needed. • I made a drastic switch and now I eat 5-6 healthy and nutritious meals per day, with supplements filling in the nutrition gaps which whole foods are lacking. • I am able to wake up earlier with more energy, ready to start my day. I'm done with my #75HARD program but I'm still doing most of the habits... • :45 walk outside • :45 min workout inside • stuck to my eating plan • gallon of water • 10 pages of my book 🚫 I did have a maragrita with dinner, but I didn't freak out about it either. I used to have a routine like this a few years ago but my focus wasn't solid enough to keep at it. I swayed and I started to look at what other people were doing instead of keeping my focus on what was working for me. Keeping the eyes on the prize is so important and keeping the blinders on. Still working on chiseling out the core and my legs, #biggestcalvesintheworld I'll get there, just have to have patience and determination.👍😁
Let’s talk progress - I know that your favorite IG personality probably has a quick fix 8, 10, or 12 week shred that is supposed to “get you in the best shape of your life”. - Let’s be honest, unless you are already ALMOST in the best shape of your life, 8, 10 or 12 weeks probably isn’t gonna do it. - Change takes time. It take effort and consistency over a long period of time! Nothing great is going to happen over night. - Here we have one of my longest running clients @amy_d_smith She has trained with me in one capacity or another for the majority of the last decade. Just yesterday she sent me the screen shot on the left. The pic on the right was from today. Pic on the left was late 2015. That 5 years. There is about a 5-7 lb weight difference. Yes this is a realistic time frame. To build a quality physique it will take YEARS of consistency. I know this may not be what you want to hear but it’s the truth! - I’ve been training full time for about 14 years now. Time and time again I see the biggest hurdles clients have is a lack of patience and unrealistic expectations. Unfortunately these have become even more of an issue lately with IG fitness personalities simply lying to people. It’s not sexy to tell you it’s going to be hard. It’s not an easy sell to tell you it’s probably going to take years to get the physique you really want. But it’s the truth. - On the other hand do not buy into limiting beliefs on your physique because of genetics or age. In the 1st picture Amy was 47 years old and today she’s 52. So I call bullshit on not being able to change your physique if you are willing to put in the consistent work! - If you are ready to do what it’s going to take long term then I would love to help! It’s not easy. There’s nothing easy about breaking bad habits and trying to create a healthy lifestyle. I GET IT. I’ve been there! I still struggle to find that balance some days too.
